With low mechanical work and a lot of tradition, the production staff at Le Fraghe uses old vineyards, surrounded by beautiful countryside, to cultivate unique vines and produces high-quality Bardolino DOC wines
Female Owned and Operated Winery
The vineyards towards the Lake Garda enjoy the Mediterranean climate and those in the Valdadige DOC relish the cools winds of the north. Matilde Poggi is the sole female owner of the winery. She did her first harvest in 1984. Since childhood, she was fascinated by vines and wines and harvested grapes with love and passion. She always kept this passion as well in the position as the president of the Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers where she introduced organic methods of wine production, with complete respect for nature.
Relax in One of the Two Beautiful Furnished Apartments
Today, Matilde has dedicated her 28 acres of vineyards to grow various grape varieties, dominated by Corvina, a native grape of the region. Along with that, she cultivates fruity Rondinella, Sangiovese, Molinara, Traminer, Chardonnay, Souvignier Gris, and Trebianel (Tai). The cellar of the winery consists of modern stainless tanks and large wooden barrels. Here, Matilde produces various types of wines, refined and aged by oak barrels, including luscious red, white, rose and sparkling wines. For guests, the owner has restored the old part of the winery and converted it into two two-room apartments, consists of one bedroom and a living room-cum-kitchen, equipped with an oven and a dishwasher. The apartments have windows overlooking the magnificent scenic beauty of the winery.
