Matteo Soria: A Legacy of Aromatic Moscato
Matteo Soria Winery is nestled in the picturesque hills of Langhe, in the southeastern region of Piedmont, Italy. This esteemed estate spans 100 acres, primarily dedicated to the cultivation of Moscato vines. The unique terroir and meticulous vineyard practices yield grapes that produce enchanting aromas and stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
A Family Tradition of Winemaking
The winery is currently owned by Matteo Soria, whose family has deep roots in the region's winemaking history. His great-grandfather, Sebastiano Soria, founded the estate, and his grandfather, Giovanni, expanded it in the early 20th century. In 1960, Giovanni built a larger winery, and in the 1970s, Matteo's father, Sergio, modernized the facility with advanced equipment. After completing his studies at a prestigious oenological school, Matteo further expanded the winery and became a leading producer of Moscato D’Asti. In 2014, he initiated the construction of a new winery to enhance production capabilities.
A Haven for Sparkling and Dessert Wines
Located in Castiglione Tinella, where 92% of the land is dedicated to Moscato vineyards, Matteo Soria Winery is perfectly situated for crafting exceptional sparkling and dessert wines. The winery employs modern winemaking techniques to preserve the distinctive flavors and aromas of their Moscato grapes. Currently, they produce around 400,000 bottles of Moscato D’Asti each year. Visitors can enjoy the stunning countryside while sampling a selection of exquisite wines from this remarkable estate.
