A Family Legacy of Winemaking in Lombardy Since 1803
Montelio Tenuta Winery has been a cherished family-owned estate since 1803. Originally a convent, it was confiscated by Napoleon from the Benedictine nuns. Nestled just a few kilometers from Piedmont, our winery is part of the Oltrepò region, historically known as “Ancient Piedmont.” Our mission, alongside our sons who are already part of the family business, is to honor our ancestors' legacy while modernizing our approach to winemaking.
As we adapt to climate change and evolving wine trends, we focus on producing high-quality wines from our signature grape varieties, including Riesling, Cortese, Pinot Noir, Barbera, Croatina, and Merlot. Whether crafting still or sparkling wines, and whether they are new or aged, we embrace the daily challenges of winemaking with passion and dedication. Join us in celebrating the rich heritage and innovative spirit of Montelio Tenuta Winery.
