A Winery Surrounded by Natural Beauty and Historic Charm

Poggio al Chiuso is a picturesque farmhouse nestled in the heart of the renowned Chianti wine region. The estate is enveloped by lush vineyards and olive groves, offering a serene and panoramic view of the stunning Tuscan landscape. Conveniently located between Florence and Siena, this winery provides an ideal setting to appreciate the natural beauty and rich history of Tuscany.

A Legacy of Winemaking

The Corti family has been crafting traditional Tuscan wines for over 40 years. In 1948, following the Second World War, Narciso, a local wine-seller, passed away, leading his sons Renzo and Gino to obtain the first license for selling wines and oil. By 1956, the brothers decided to produce their own wines and purchased land at Poggio al Chiuso. Today, Mario's sons, Marco and Matteo, continue this cherished family tradition. The family has beautifully renovated the farmhouse, blending modern comforts with the rich culture of Tuscany while producing exceptional wines.

Sangiovese: The Crown Jewel of Italian Grapes

Poggio al Chiuso cultivates a variety of grapevines, with a special focus on Sangiovese. This grape reaches its peak expression in the Rosso IGT LECAPPELLE, a wine characterized by its aromatic profile and flavors of ripe fruit, reflecting the essence of Tuscan tradition. In addition to Sangiovese, the winery also grows Canaiolo, Merlot, and Trebbiano, producing high-quality red, rosé, and white wines. Just a short distance away lies Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, a charming town filled with delightful streets, restaurants, and shops. For families seeking a memorable experience in the beautiful countryside, a visit to Poggio al Chiuso is highly recommended.

They made our stay unbelievably amazing. We cannot recommend this place enough. As new travelers to the area, they went above and beyond to recommend places and acquaint us with the unfamiliar. Not to mention their award winning wine. We will certainly look forward to what the future holds for this gem!

Many thanks to the Corti family for a wonderful stay! We felt very comfortable and welcome. The agriturismo is really beautiful, the Cortis are lovely hosts and you get to see wine growing up close. We will definitely come back and stay longer. We are also looking forward to drinking the delicious wine here at home, for our taste the Chianti Reserva is a particular highlight! Really recommended, both the winery and the agriturismo, thank you very much!
