Wine tasting and tour at Poggio al Chiuso
Take a guided tour to understand Tuscan tradition and the winemaking process, followed by a wine tasting served with local cheese and hors d'oeuvres
Poggio al Chiuso is a farmhouse located in the heart of the famous Chianti wine region. Beautiful vineyards and a belt of olive groves surround the estate. The location of the farmhouse guarantees a very relaxing and panoramic view of nature where you can enjoy your glass of wine. The winery rests halfway between Florence and Siena, a perfect location to experience the natural beauty of Tuscany and all its historic and artistic contributions to the region.
The Corti family is producing Tuscan traditional wines from more than 40 years. In 1948, after the Second World War, Narciso, a common wine-seller passed away, and then Renzo and Gino, sons of Narciso, officially gained the first license for the sale of wines and oil. In 1956, the brothers decided to produce their own wines and bought land at Poggio al Chiuso. In the late 90s, the sons of Mario, Marco and Matteo continued their family tradition. Presently, the family at Poggio al Chiuso renovated the farmhouse with charmingly finished interiors, keeping the culture of Tuscany alive while creating outstanding wines.
The winery Poggio al Chiuso cultivates a various variety of vines. But they give priority to Sangiovese, which finds its highest expression in Rosso IGT LECAPPELLE, an aromatic wine with taste of ripe fruits with a typical Tuscan tradition. Along with that, they also grow Canaiolo, Merlot and Trebbiano in their vineyards and produce high quality red, rose and white wine. Furthermore, from Poggio al Chiuso Winery it is a short distance to Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, a lovely little town with charming streets where you can find restaurants, shops, and all that you would need. If you are planning a family trip, close to the extraordinary countryside, we encourage a visit to Poggio al Chiuso.
