Tenuta Fertuna – where Vines Growing on Fertile Land
Fertuna refers to the fertility of the land and the fortune of men who cultivate it. The winery was established in 1997 in the province of Grosseto, Tuscan Maremma, in central Italy. It is located in the area which is famous for growing vines and the winery grow their own grapes for making wine.
Tenuta Fertuna, in Process of Organic Farming
Tenuta Fertuna covers about 150 hectares of land out of which 50 hectares are vineyard. They grow famous Italian grape varieties of Sangiovese and Vermentino Toscano as well as international grapes such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. They want to promote quality agricultural techniques in the vineyard and are in the process of becoming an organic winery. Tenuta Fertuna Winery believes in sustainability and environmental protections throughout their entire winemaking process. The grapes cultivated here are used to make quality wines which are designated Maremma Toscana DOC and Toscana IGT. One of the best wines that the winery produces is Droppello, a white wine made from Sangiovese grapes.

Other than vineyards and wine production, the winery also produces oil from olives harvested from their 10-hectare olive grove. The estate also has a restaurant and a wine shop open for everyone to come and eat and buy wines, oils and other food products. There is a beautiful garden, which looks majestic during the day as well as at night. There are also living spaces for various events and six suites for guests to stay for multiple days at the estate.
