Terre di San Ginesio, a Stone’s Throw from the Adriatic Sea
Between the Sibillini Mountains and the Adriatic Sea, two ancient villages of San Ginesio and Ripe San Ginesio are located and dedicated for the cultivation of high-quality vines. The winery is perched along the Fiastrella Valley, in Ripe San Ginesio, in the Marche region. The company is half an hour’s drive from the sea and the doors of the Monti Sibillini Park.
The Story of Three Brothers
Three Baleani brothers, Fabrizio, Gianfranco, and Alberto own the winery, and with the help of their friend, Maurizio Crispini, handle the functionality of Terre di San Ginesio. Fabrizio, an agronomist and expert winemaker takes care of the work at vineyards with his 30 years of winemaking experience. The winery sits on an ancient building whose sandstone walls are dated back to the 14th century. The appealing vineyards of Terre di San Ginesio cover an area of 15 hectares, composed of rich quality grapes. This includes Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Vernaccia Nera. The owners also plant top-class Lacrima di Morro, Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia di Candia, Passerina, and Ribena. The winery grows a unique red grape – Vernaccia Nera, under the appellation of San Ginesio DOC. Using aromatic and fruit forward white grape varietals like Maceratino and Trebbiano, Terre di San Ginesio produces delicious wines, made in Marche Bianco IGP.
