A Family Winery with a Rich Heritage Since 1782
Wines of Bordeaux Appellation
Vignobles Barreau is a cherished family estate that has been producing exceptional wines since 1782. Our two Châteaux, Haut-Garriga and Coutreau, are nestled in the Entre-deux-Mers region, just 10 km from St Emilion and 30 km from Bordeaux. Renowned for our white wines, we have been exporting to Europe for over 30 years. Today, we cultivate 75 hectares of vineyards, yielding 4,000 hectoliters of wine under the Bordeaux and Entre-deux-Mers appellations.
Unique Terroir of Barreau Vineyard
Our commitment to sustainable viticulture is reflected in the diverse soils that surround our vineyard. This unique terroir is our greatest asset. We plant Merlot and Cabernet on chalky-clay soils to achieve optimal ripeness, while Sauvignon Blanc thrives in the cooler areas, enhancing its fruity aromas. Muscadelle and Sémillon flourish in the clay-rich soils near the Dordogne River, creating a harmonious blend of flavors.
Passionate Independent Winemakers
With years of experience, we take pride in crafting our wines in a modern cellar. Our family estate's strength lies in our dedication to sustainable practices, allowing us to produce wines that reflect our passion and commitment to quality. We invite you to savor the fruits of our labor, crafted with care and expertise.
