A Legacy of Winemaking in Bordeaux for Over 124 Years
The Prestigious Wines of Vignobles Raboutet
Vignobles Raboutet is a charming winery nestled in Berson, a picturesque village along the Gironde estuary. This family-owned estate has been passionately managed by the Raboutet family for six generations. Established in 1897 by Jean Raboutet, a Bordeaux wine merchant, the winery spans over 20 hectares. Today, Aurelie and Alexandre Peuch-Raboutet continue this rich tradition, blending time-honored techniques with modern expertise. Their wines have garnered numerous awards and are consistently featured in esteemed wine guides like Le Point and the Hachette Wine Guide.
The Vineyards of the Winery
Chateau Groleau, located near the Gironde estuary, boasts 18 hectares of vineyards with optimal exposure. The unique terroir, characterized by clayey-gravelly soil, enhances the quality of the grapes, resulting in exceptional wines. The winery primarily cultivates Malbec, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, producing wines that are vibrant, aromatic, and fruit-forward, with a rich structure and distinct character from the Malbec grape and oak aging. These wines mature in oak barrels for several years, allowing the tannins to soften gracefully. Vignobles Raboutet is committed to sustainable viticulture, being a member of the Bordeaux Wine Environmental System Association and holding the HVE (High Environmental Value) Certification since 2018.
