W. E. Frank Wines is a dynamic newcomer in the German wine landscape, nestled in the picturesque Rote Hang of the Nierstein region in Rheinhessen. This winery specializes in crafting outstanding Riesling wines, focusing exclusively on Premier and Grand Crus, with a small selection of Pinot Noir.

Founded in August 2015 by Dr. Wolfgang E. Frank and Heide Hennecken, the winery aims to produce some of the finest Rieslings in the world. Alf E. Ewald, the head of oenology, oversees all winery and cellar operations, offering informative tours to visitors in Nierstein. With a commitment to quality, Dr. Wolfgang and his team create premium red, white, and sparkling wines using the renowned Riesling grape.

Growth of W. E. Frank Wines Vineyards

The winery began its journey by acquiring its first vineyard in Orbel and leasing land in Pettenthal. In 2016, they expanded their holdings to include plots in Hipping, Ölberg, and Ludwigshöher Teufelskopf. The inaugural vintage in 2015 showcased exceptional quality, and since then, the estate has gained recognition both nationally and internationally for its remarkable wines.

It was an amazing experience, frank showed us how he produces his amazing wine. We got to taste wines from 1991 till 2023. I would definitely recommend this tour. He showed us his passion for wine making and made us fall in love with his amazing hobby. This tour was worth much more then we paid, you do not want to miss out on this one!

It was an amazing experience, frank showed us how he produces his amazing wine. We got to taste wines from 1991 till 2023. I would definitely recommend this tour. He showed us his passion for wine making and made us fall in love with his amazing hobby. This tour was worth much more then we paid, you do not want to miss out on this one!

Thank you for this unforgettable and very detailed Riesling tasting, all the wines are top, especially the barrel samples were very interesting. It's very nice that the work here is still done with perfection and passion. Premium Rieslings where you are willing to pay a little more and once you try them yourself, you will notice the difference with every single sip.
