A Project Purely Dedicated to German-Riesling
Producing top-class Riesling wines, W. E. Frank Wines is a fresh face in the German wine industry located on the Rote Hang in the Nierstein wine region of Rheinhessen. The winery only makes Premier and Grand Crus, except for a tiny amount of Pinot Noir
W. E. Frank Wines was established on August, 2015 by Dr. Wolfgang E. Frank and Heide Hennecken with the intention to produce some of the best Rieslings worldwide. Alf E. Ewald, the head of oenology, handles all the winery and cellar operations. He gives a full-fledged tour of the winery when tourists visit Nierstein. Using the queen of white wines, Riesling, Dr. Wolfgang and the team deliver super-premium red, white, and sparkling wines.
Expansion of W.E. Frank Wines Vineyards
The owners bought their first vineyard in Orbel and leased them Pettenthal. In 2016, new plots were added in Hipping, Ölberg, and Ludwigshöher Teufelskopf. The maiden vintage produced in 2015 was already of very high quality and since then the estate is moving from strength to strength, gaining more and more attention nationally and internationally.

A truly exceptional winetasting!
We felt very welcomed at the W.E.Frank winery. The owner offered us a lovely journey to the making of wine through tasting and telling. We tasted a large variety of wines, both white and sparkling. We were fascinated by how the taste of the same grape varies so widely due to choice of wineyard and production. We got to taste wine from both the barrels and bottled selected gems and all of them wonderful! We were truly honored to participate in such a personalized tasting and send all the best to the owner Wolfgang!
