Weingut Kuhnle – 500 Years of Winemaking Tradition

Located in the picturesque Remstal-Stuttgart area of Württemberg, Weingut Kuhnle has been a beacon of quality winemaking since 1983, under the stewardship of Werner and Margaret Kuhnle. With roots tracing back over 500 years, their family legacy is deeply intertwined with the art of viticulture. The charming half-timbered estate is nestled in the scenic Rems Valley, where the winery has flourished from humble beginnings to a respected name in German wines.
Due to the steep slopes of their vineyards, much of the work is done by hand, ensuring meticulous care for each vine.
Their commitment to quality in both the vineyard and cellar, combined with a passion for winemaking, drives them to produce exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.

Prime Vineyard Locations in Württemberg

Weingut Kuhnle cultivates its grapes across 25 hectares of some of the finest vineyard sites, including Endersbach, Schnait, Stetten, and Beutelsbach. The region's soil and microclimate create ideal conditions for grape growing. Careful winter pruning and selective thinning ensure low yields of high-quality grapes. The steep terrain necessitates manual labor, allowing for a hands-on approach to viticulture.

Diverse Grape Varietals at Weingut Kuhnle

The winery proudly grows a variety of both local and international grape varietals, including Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Kerner, Muskateller, Trollinger, Muskattrollinger, Lemberger, Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Dornfelder, and Pinot Noir. Handpicked grapes are used to craft a range of wines, from red and white to rosé, sparkling, dessert, and fortified wines. Gentle winemaking techniques preserve the natural fruity aromas and flavors, showcasing the distinct characteristics of the terroir.

Unfortunately we haven't been there in person yet, but we can only recommend the wine from the Mayländer collection. This was personally recommended to us by Bernd Mayländer at a meeting in the Sim Race. Maybe will do a wine tasting this year.

I have been a customer of the Kuhnle family winery for almost 30 years now. A winery with heart and family tradition. Beautifully located. Excellent wines at pleasant prices. Numerous events in the winery, in the vineyard or in the wine town of Strrumpfelbach and the surrounding area invite you to enjoy tastings and social gatherings throughout the year. Even if I can't always be there, you're always well informed and looked after like a family. Thank you very much for your warmth and constant hospitality.

Very good and nice advice! To get an impression of the different wines, we were allowed to try a few varieties. Every wine was very good. The ambience in the half-timbered house was absolutely appropriate and was really fun! Thank you! We would be happy to come back on our next visit to Strrumpfelbach.

We were welcomed without registration after a rain shower. We were able to taste all the wines in the rustic restaurant. The red wines (Merlot and Shiraz) are particularly convincing and offer a good price-performance ratio. Thank you for your hospitality!
