Originated at the Start of 19th Century
The Zorzon winery was established by Luigi Zorzon during the start of the 19th century, who had great enthusiasm for making wines. The estate is now led by Giorgio Deganis, the founder’s grandfather, who has the same enthusiasm for vinification. His wife, Petra, moved to Brazzano with him 10 years ago and work together since then. Their enthusiasm and unique approach to winemaking allow them to make wines loved by their customers. Recently they have started dealing in new markets, and the USA, Europe, Japan, and Russia are the main export markets.
Rich Traditions and Winemaking History
The winery works according to rich traditions and winemaking history. It owns 8 hectares of vineyards, cultivating Isonzo and D.O.C Collio wines. The company is a member of the Consortium for the protection of Collio wines and strictly follow the regulations of production. Collio is a hilly area that borders Slovenia and is to the north-east of the Friuli Venezia Giulia area. This area features the best climatic conditions and unique soil. The soil named Ponca has sandstone and marls that allow them to make unique, aromatic wines rich in minerality.
Combination of Tradition With Modern Technology
The rolling hills, cool climate, and temperature variations between day and night make the area suitable for vine cultivation. Friulano, Malvasia, Ribolla Gialla, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc are grown here. These grapes are used to make high-quality red, white, and sparkling wines. The combination of tradition with modern technology and enterprise has given them a strong reputation in the international wine market. Zorzon’s wines are loved by customers both in Italy and other countries.
