A Legacy of Passion and Tradition in Friuli-Venezia Giulia
Established in the Early 19th Century
Zorzon Winery was founded by Luigi Zorzon in the early 19th century, driven by a passion for winemaking. Today, Giorgio Deganis, Luigi's grandson, continues this legacy with the same enthusiasm. Alongside his wife, Petra, who joined him in Brazzano a decade ago, they have cultivated a unique approach to vinification. Their dedication has allowed them to expand into new markets, with the USA, Europe, Japan, and Russia being key destinations for their wines.
Rich Traditions and Winemaking Heritage
With 8 hectares of vineyards, Zorzon Winery produces Isonzo and D.O.C. Collio wines, adhering to the rich traditions of the region. As a proud member of the Consortium for the Protection of Collio Wines, they follow strict production regulations. The Collio area, located in the northeastern part of Friuli Venezia Giulia and bordering Slovenia, boasts ideal climatic conditions and unique Ponca soil, composed of sandstone and marl, which contributes to the minerality and aromatic qualities of their wines.
Blending Tradition with Modern Techniques
The rolling hills and significant temperature variations between day and night create an ideal environment for vine cultivation. Zorzon Winery grows a variety of grapes, including Friulano, Malvasia, Ribolla Gialla, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, producing high-quality red, white, and sparkling wines. By combining traditional methods with modern technology, Zorzon has built a strong reputation in the international wine market, earning the admiration of wine lovers both in Italy and abroad.
