  • IGT “Pietrose” Super Tuscan
  • Salumi tipici toscani (prosciutto, capocollo o lonza, salame)

Here you can visit the wine cellar for free. It is highly recommended and very beautiful. There are many old bottles stored and a good cold temperature, a relief from the heat in summer. Julia offered us a wine tasting afterwards. We were even allowed to try grappa and vinsanto, which we bought. The vinsanto was from 1996, the oldest we drank.

The visit to the winery is free. Access is via a small spiral stone staircase. A first room with huge barrels leads to a larger space with more wooden barrels. It is very interesting and unusual. There are many bottles on display. They also have a nice restaurant. A visit is recommended.

Winetour in Talosa cellar in Montepulciano

We stayed at this farm and tasted in the cellar that has giant barrels from the 1500s inside! Nicola took us on a tour and explained the history of this cellar that, to my great surprise, was also a prison and an air raid shelter during the war. It also houses an Etruscan tomb that can be visited. The wines are very good and the vineyards with their farmhouse where we slept over the weekend were a magical place. We will be back!

In the center of the town of Montepulciano this winery makes it’s wine in underground storage facility. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We had a flight of four wines, and two aperitivos. Wines were very good will order soon!

A great tour of the Talosa Cellars located in the depths (15 m. below ground level) of the hill at the top of Montepulciano. After going down dozens of steps you wander around the "caves" where you can admire large barrels of various sizes. The largest ones are 115 hl, now no longer used.

Tasting experience with Nick booked through Booking. 4 types of Nobile di Montepulciano accompanied by a platter of cold cuts and cheeses (the pecorinos were amazing). Exhaustive explanations.
