The Late Maturing Wines of Rivera Wine Region
The two wine appellations within the Rivera wine region are the Vineo de Calidad Preferente (VCP) and the Vino Comun (VC). VCP is a category of high-quality wines that are made from cultivated grape varietals. VC wines are table wines that are of lower quality.

Autodromo Eduardo P. Cabrera - The Autodromo de Rivera
The Autodromo Eduardo P. Cabrera is a top-level national racing circuit that has recently been relaunched after years of abandonment. The course is a total of 1.45 miles and has pit boxes for 14 cars, a snack bar and toilet facilities for visitors. The circuit is located west of Rivera in Gran Bretana Park and is easily accessible for all who would like to visit.
Visit the International Square
The Plaza Internacional is a square located in the town of the Rivera wine region. The square is unique in that it is shared in equal parts by Brazil and Uruguay. International Square is situated on the border between Uruguay and Brazil and does not have any crossing control which means that visitors can cross freely from one region to the other. The size of the square is approximately 55 000 square meters, and it is often used by locals to meet with friends and relax.

Garrapinada - The Best of Uruguayan Street Food
Garrapinada is a popular Uruguayan street food that is made of peanuts that are roasted in sugar, water and vanilla essence. The peanuts are coated in the syrup mixture and once this hardens, they are ready to eat. Garrapinada can be found across the streets of the Rivera region where they are sold by vendors called garrapineros. The nuts are served in a small, long bag so that they can be enjoyed on the go. Apart from peanuts, Garrapinada is also sometimes made with walnuts and almonds.
