Albin and Ana Žaren, the pioneers of Albiana Estate – Vinska klet Žaren bought the land where the winery stands back in 1936. The land used to be a mixed farm initially but it was turned into a wine estate, later. The team at Albiana Estate – Vinska klet Žaren have always been progressive, observing what else they could do, monitoring and conditioning themselves to make themselves better. The passion drives through them today even after all these years.

Most wineries mature their wines in American or French Oak Barrels. What makes the Albiana Estate – Vinska klet Žaren different is that the oak barrels that hold their ageing wines are made at their estate. Wood is taken from the forests that the winery caters.

In over 20 hectares of land, the Albiana Estate – Vinska klet Žaren see to it that they take the possible care of their vines. Laški rizling, kraljevina, chardonnay, zeleni silvanec, sauvignon, rumeni muškat, rumeni plavec, ranfol, modra frankinja and žametna črnina grow here to give you that rich taste. The soils here consist of a mixture of ilovica(clay) and lapor (maristone). The lands here in the region of Posavje give the grape varieties the ideal climate and the conditions so that the best wines can be made out of them.
