La Travaglina – Since 1967
Born in 1967, in the homonymous farmhouse dating back to the late 1600s, La Travaglina is located in Santa Giuletta on the first hills of Oltrepò Pavese. In full respect of nature, thanks to agricultural practices with low environmental impact, they produce wines obtained from their own vineyards located according to terroir and the best exposures offered by the unique lot layout of the winery. Making high-quality grapes simplifies the job in the cellar, where they transform the must into wine, and allows it to preserve and offer products to wine lovers the aromas and flavors of their territory and our tradition.
Environment-friendly, natural winemaking
The company owns 33 hectares of vineyards around their old farmhouse, and everything from pressing, winemaking, maturation, and bottling takes place here. The winery follows an agricultural policy to protect the environment. There is no use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, etc. to make sure the grapes have a natural taste. The old vineyards have a low yield but of high quality. Pinot Noir, Riesling, Croatina, Pinot Gris, and Barbera are used to make their red, white, and sparkling wines.
The winery is famous for the sparkling Bonarda
The winery uses the best methods and machinery to make Oltrepo Pavese DOC wines and is particularly famous for the sparkling Bonarda and classic method sparkling wines. All the wines have distinct taste and flavor, which transmits to whoever tastes it. The wines rightly reflect the quality of the terroir and the grapes to the whole world.
