Breathless Wines is a family-owned winery founded by three sisters who share a deep love for winemaking, inspired by their mother's passion for life. Located in the heart of California, the sisters focus on crafting exquisite sparkling wines that enhance both everyday moments and special celebrations. Utilizing the méthode champenoise, which involves a traditional second fermentation in the bottle, they select only the finest Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay grapes to create their exceptional wines.

Award-Winning Winemaker

Under the guidance of renowned winemaker Penny Gadd-Coster, Breathless Wines produces both sparkling and still wines using time-honored French techniques. With nearly 35 years of experience, Penny has garnered numerous accolades, including 90 Points from Wine Enthusiast for the Breathless Brut and multiple Gold Medals at prestigious competitions. Her recognition as the 2013 “Winemaker of the Year” by the North Bay Business Journal highlights her commitment to quality and excellence in winemaking.

Community Commitment

Since its inception in 2011, Breathless Wines has been dedicated to making a positive impact in the community. The winery actively supports various non-profit organizations focused on women's and children's issues, health, and education. Each month, a portion of sales is donated to charities that provide essential services to those in need, reinforcing the winery's commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.

Brought the dogs up to Healdsburg for the day and stopped in at Breathless. We were seated outside and the staff enjoyed watching us dress the dogs up, and posing them on the sidecar. Great place to sample sparkling wine, or to just buy and glass and enjoy the outdoors. Fun place to visit and good bubbly.

So delicious. So fun. So easy. So welcoming. So close to downtown Healdsburg. So worth the membership. My boyfriend and I are big fans. They are super flexible with us bringing our own snacks and food when we come to enjoy a glass, tasting or bottle. Don’t have your own snacks? Fear not, they provide chips :) We haven’t made it to one of the crepe brunches they host but it’s on the to-so list too.

What a beautiful hidden gem in Healdsburg. The space is so comfortable and welcoming. I was here recently and everyone had a wonderful afternoon in the garden outdoor venue. The hosts are over the top.

Super one-of-a-kind wine tasting near downtown Healdsburg.. Love, love, love the unique decor. Everything is so clean, and well maintained. The garden patio is tranquil and beautiful. The staff here are very hospitable. I bought a bottle of champagne as a gift for someone and they loved it. 💕 I personally am in awe of what was created in this space - it's a hidden gem. A-Class! I look forward to taking their behind-the-scenes production tour, looks so fun! 🍾
