Cantina Perazzeta, at the Foot of Volcanic Mount Amiata
Cantina Perazzeta is situated in the small village of Montenero d’Orcia, in between the Morellino di Scansano and Brunello di Montalcino production area, in the upper part of the Maremma, Tuscany. This region is well known for cultivation and production of red wines based on Sangiovese. Their winery is located at the foot of the extinct Mount Amiata volcano, with soils very rich in nutrients and ideal for growing grapes. Other than Sangiovese, the estate also produces Vermentino, Cabernet, Syrah and Merlot in their 38 hectares of vineyard located between the height of 250 to 380 meters above sea level. Cantina Perazzeta follows the principle that favor gaining maximum quality and implore a work ethic that guarantees a unique product combined with the respect for the land. Cantina Perazzeta produces a large variety of red, white and rosé wines which are designated IGT, DOC and DOCG by Italian classification.
The Winery with Roots in the Middle Ages
Cantina Perazzeta was built in 1500s and the winery boasts rooms with stone bearing walls and masonry vaults dating back to the same period. This setting ensures a natural environment for the aging of their wines in barrels.
