A Grand Cru Classé in 1855, Château Boyd-Cantenac is a family estate that is among the smallest, with 17 hectares of vines. Its wines adhere to the traditional Margaux style, at once intense, refined, and elegant. They are designed to last for several decades. Its lighter Second Wine is intended to be enjoyed within 15-20 years.

We don't have a standard tour, but we strive to meet the visitor's desires and interests. Several wines are tasted, from the latest vintage, currently aging, to older wines, with a comparison of the Premier Vins (Cru Classé) and Second Vins.

An exceptional, very educational visit for 1 hour, combining the winery and the vines. Varied tasting of 6 very good wines. If you must visit a castle in the Margaux region, Pouget is the most authentic.

A very pleasant experience with Mr. Guillemet, who enthusiastically shared his knowledge and experience while taking our expectations into account. Thank you for this moment and for this wonderful vertical tasting! A winery worth visiting for both the experience and the wine! We are delighted! Justine & Bastien.

A wonderful visit with Lucien at Chateau Pouget. Very familiar and personal atmosphere where you feel very comfortable. The tour was informative but never didactic. Despite his impressive specialist knowledge, he takes the time to explain everything calmly and also provide interpersonal input. Not only the visit but also the type of tasting and the excellent wines convinced us to leave a great review. Great experience we really enjoyed. Thanks.

Chateau Pouget was our absolute favorite wine experience in the Bordeaux area. Wine Tourism in France is so different than what we're used to in the US. They focus on touring their beautiful chateaus, show you the vines and go through the whole wine making process. At the end, you get to sample 2 to 3 wines and you're done. Chateau Pouget was different. We pulled up to a building. No castle, no vineyards surrounding it. We were greeted by Lucien, who began by asking us what we know about wine. We told him we frequent wineries in the states, and that I have taken some courses on wine. Lucien was a fountain of knowledge. He had such great stories about how some wine terms came to be, why certain methods began being used, and how they developed into what they are today. We went inside to a dark room with a large table. At the end of the room was a countertop filled with wine bottles, most of them with no labels. He first showed us the back barrel room where he told us about their barrel aging process. We went back into the front room and sat at the table. Lucien let us taste wines from those aged 8 months, to many years. This was the only vertical tasting we did the entire time in France. Not only that, but this was the most in-depth vertical tasting we have ever had! We ended up buying a 2002 and a 2005 vintage. We would have bought more if we had room in our luggage. I highly recommend the tasting experience at Chateau Pouget. This is a true wine lover's tasting. Thank you, Lucien for everything!
