Domaine de la Ronze: A Renowned Winery in Beaujolais

Domaine de la Ronze stands as a prominent name in the Beaujolais wine region, with a rich history dating back to 1850. This family-owned estate has been passed down through generations of dedicated winemakers. Spanning 17 hectares, the vineyards are nestled in the heart of Beaujolais, featuring the esteemed appellations of Morgon, Beaujolais-Villages, and Côtes-de-Brouilly.

From 1,500 to 80,000 Bottles: A Legacy of Growth

The winery's story began when Françoise Troncy married Antoine Geoffray in 1850. Over the years, their descendants continued the winemaking tradition, culminating in the establishment of Domaine de la Ronze by Claudius Lathuillière. Initially producing just 1,500 bottles, the winery's output surged to 80,000 bottles, thanks to the efforts of Francine Lathuillière, Claudius and Marie's daughter. In 1979, the family expanded their vineyards in Régnié and Villié-Morgon, further boosting production. Today, Cyrille and Karine Bernardo, the seventh generation of winemakers, manage the estate. Domaine de la Ronze has received numerous awards for its commitment to quality, crafting well-balanced wines that reflect their terroir. The estate produces red, white, and rosé wines using Gamay, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc grapes.

Discovering the estate during the open days, we were seduced by the beautiful vintages aged in oak barrels, particularly in the tuns. The Regnié Réginus vintage is at the top of the appellation.
