Successful Wine Production at Domaine de la Ronze from 1,500 Bottles to 80,000 Bottles
In 1850, Françoise Troncy married Antoine Geoffray and after 113 years, a descendant of this couple, Marie Vernay, married Claudius Lathuillière, who created Domaine de la Ronze. In the first years of wine production, the winery produced around 1,500 bottles. The production at Domaine de la Ronze continued to grow and increased to about 80,000 bottles thanks to the work of Francine Lathuillière, the daughter of Claudius and Marie. In 1979 the family bought vines in the town of Régnié and Villié-Morgon and the sales of Domaine de la Ronze rose again. Nowadays, Cyrille and Karine Bernardo, a brother and sister team, operate and manage Domaine de la Ronze. They are the seventh generation of winegrowers at the estate. The winery of Domaine de la Ronze won many medals and awards for their professionalism in winemaking. They produce well-balanced aged wines with respect to their terroir and the environment. To develop quality wines, the winemakers at the estate of Domaine de la Ronze use Gamay, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. They produce red, white, as well as rosé wines.
