Spanning 50 hectares, the vineyards of Domaine des Chanssaud thrive in a unique terroir characterized by clay pebbles, sand, and quartz, shaped by the Rhône River's alluvial deposits. These pebbles absorb sunlight and warmth during the day, releasing it at night to create a stable environment for optimal grape ripening. Committed to sustainability, the vineyard employs organic farming practices, avoiding insecticides and pesticides while focusing on mechanical soil cultivation. Recently, Domaine des Chanssaud has transitioned to organic farming, ensuring high-quality grapes and producing remarkable southern Rhône wines.

The Charle de Valois vintage is an excellent Côte du Rhône at a very reasonable price. In addition, the welcome is very, very pleasant and the tasting is delicious. A Châteauneuf estate to recommend!

We did a tasting a few years ago: we had a perfect welcome and a presentation of the wines adapted to our knowledge. We left full of information and especially nuggets. Examples: the Charles de Valois 2016 tasted this afternoon with sheep cheeses and sheep cheese with truffles: a real taste pleasure. And the estate’s Côte du Rhône 2019, accompanying a bull stew: divine. THANKS. Looking forward to seeing you again.

We drove by this vineyard coming from Chateauneuf du Pap and heading for Orange. My wife and I just turned up without a booking, the owner was just pulling up in her car and within minutes we were in the tasting room with one of her team to taste some beautiful wines. We left with a box of cracking Chateauneuf du Pap and I'll save each and every one for those special occasions. A lovely visit, they couldn't have made us feel more welcome 👍🍷🇫🇷
