Erzherzog Johann Weine – A Collaboration of Over Hundred Years
In 1916, a group of Styrian winemakers took over the ancient wine cellar of Ehrenhausen Castle, owned by the Ritcher family, intending to produce top-class French vintages. The cellar is situated in the old, parent company fully renovated with modern technology. The winery also houses a special room for events, along with a state-of-the-art wine shop. Today, the company delivers high-end red, white, and rose wines under IGP Val de Montferrand labels.
The Winery Team Cultivates Around 600 Vineyards
After the opening of the new winery in 2014, many sustainable methods were taken into practice. Today, a wide array of grapes are grown using which delicious wines are produced. The association cultivates high-quality Chardonnay, Marsanne, Nielluccio, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Touriga Nacional and collect them later using manual harvesting methods.
Celebrate Special Events at Nannerl G’wölb
The winery has a unique place for tourists to organize private events, such as corporate meetings, birthdays, weddings, etc. The large hall can accommodate up to 80 to 100 people. The building is named after the beloved of Archduke Johann, Anna Plochl, and is equipped with an iPad, a sound system, projector, laptop, combined with food and wine stalls.
