Fattoria Poggio Capponi- Winery’s Building Dating back to the 1400s during the Renaissance Florence
The wine farm at Fattoria Poggio Capponi dates back to the last years of the 1400s during the Renaissance Florence when the area was ruled by the Medici family and by Lorenzo the Magnificent, who both had a strong passion for arts and culture. During this time the Capponi family built the farm 25 km outside of Florence in the beautiful rolling hills overlooking Chianti.
Over the time the farm has become famous for being the perfect destination for both agriculture and leisure.
After the Second World War, a significant effort was made by the family to modernize the structures on the winery and the wine production systems and techniques.
Enjoy the Breathtakingly Beautiful Hills
When visiting the winery today one can still see the terraces of the original wine farm and enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful hills, vineyards, woods and panoramas. The setting of the farm is so incredibly beautiful that it has been used s the set and backdrop for many popular films and TV series. The farm is not only famous for its brilliant wines but also for its oil, wheat and other agricultural products.
World Famous and Internationally Popular WInes
Despite this, producing high quality wine is still the main focus of the farm and this is evident in their world famous and internationally popular Binto Toscana Bianco, Sovente Chardonnay, Villa Cappo Rose, Michaelangelo I.G.T and Tinorso Red. Today the wine farm at Fattoria Poggio Capponi is a must see for all visitors to the area.
