The Story Behind I Cipressi

The I Cipressi winery has its roots in the early 1960s when the Frangiosa family relocated from Campania to the picturesque hills of Montepulciano, Tuscany. They began their journey by cultivating grapes on a small farm, laying the foundation for what would become a cherished family legacy.

In 1995, Luigi Frangiosa took a significant step by establishing the family winery, creating a brand that honors the rich traditions of the Tuscan region. Today, I Cipressi spans approximately 6.5 hectares, with half dedicated to producing the esteemed Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.

The winery focuses on native grape varieties that tell the story of Tuscany, including Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Colorino. Each bottle reflects the unique terroir and heritage of the region, making I Cipressi a must-visit for wine enthusiasts and travelers seeking authentic Tuscan experiences.

This wine tasting was perfecto! A beautiful, family owned winery where they do everything themselves. The wine was spectacular and I was happy that they could ship a case back to the states. Manual speaks English extremely well and is very entertaining! To see Manual work along side his father, Luigi, was so touching. It was a very warm, friendly, educational experience that I highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Manuel and Luigi. You can tell this family takes great care with their wine. We loved learning about the process of making wine, tasting the wonderful wines they produce, and walking through their facilities. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a unique experience in the Montepulciano area.

We had a wonderful experience! A family business, as you would expect from a book, run with love and passion. The tour was very interesting and the wines were top-notch, we could hardly decide which ones we wanted to buy! Keep up the good work!

Family-run winery with exceptional wine and wonderful owners. Luigi and Manuel accompanied us in the tasting explaining step by step the different wines and their characteristics. Their humanity is the added value. If I ever go back to the area, I will definitely stop by again. I also bought some bottles since the wine was objectively very good. They also allowed us to take a tour of the vineyards. Everything TOP! Also recommended for foreigners, since Manuel speaks excellent English.
