Today, Ladora Winery stands as the most renowned wine estate in Vietnam, celebrated for its premium wines under the brand name Chateau Dalat.
Chateau Dalat is situated at an elevation of 1,600 meters above sea level, where the cool climate ranges from 18-20°C year-round—ideal conditions for high-quality winemaking. Drawing on traditional French winemaking techniques brought to Vietnam in the 19th century, Ladofoods has combined these methods with innovative practices to create wines that meet international standards. Notably, Ladofoods is the only winery in Vietnam that has invested in the raw material region of Ninh Thuan Province, located just 60 km from the winery, utilizing advanced agricultural models and biocide technology for grape cultivation.
Our wine cellar, located 10 meters underground, was constructed under the guidance of European experts to replicate the authentic wine cellars found in Europe. The design ensures a stable temperature and humidity level, essential for aging fine wines. Currently, the cellar houses 60 oak barrels, which play a crucial role in the winemaking process. The oak allows for a controlled infusion of oxygen, softening the tannins and enhancing the wine's flavor profile. This aging process imparts unique notes of smoke, vanilla, chocolate, and leather, resulting in wines with rich colors and captivating aromas.

Lovely winery just outside of Da Lat (around a 45min drive). I found this place on Google maps and decided to visit on the same day without booking. I was very fortunate to be the only person so I was able to have a solo tour of the winery, their collection, and also do the wine tasting. The wine tasting was 120k dong for 3 wines which was perfect. The sauvignon blanc was my favourite! The guide was also amazing and allowed me to take a lot of pictures and explore on my own. I definitely recommend making the effort to come out and visit when in DaLat. I also understand that the wine produced at the winery is usually shipped to South Korea.

The wine factory. An amazing tasting room. They offer 3 types of wine to taste and give you a baguette as a snack. They also show a short movie about wine production at the factory. The wines are mediocre, but it is worth a visit, just for fun.

A tour that felt like homework. I was happy to hear the current owner of the winery is Czech. The wine tasted like it still had a long way to go, but it was nice that it was well managed. Single-varietal wines are a bit better, but still have a slightly watery, bland flavor. Still, 100 points for the effort alone, haha. I tried the Veng Dalat blend and the single-varietal cashew and scoop. I wanted to try poetry, too, but that's next time.

Ladora Winery is a winery in Dalat. Admission is inexpensive, and you can sample three varieties of Dalat wine. It's a very comfortable place, and the servers are friendly. It's a great place for a longer stay if you'd like, and I had a great time learning about the different wines of Vietnam, especially Dalat.
