About Chateau Dalat

Chateau Dalat has been built on an area 1600m high above sea level; cool year round within 18-20°C – an ideal condition for high-end winemaking. Proceed famed winemaking secrets from the French which were accumulated and brought to Vietnam since the 19 century with the foundation of Lafaro winemaking factory in Dalat city, Ladofoods combined them with our own secrets in order to born Vietnamese wine according to international standards. In Vietnam, only Ladofoods has invested in the raw material region in Ninh Thuan Province (60km far from the winery), applied the high-tech agricultural model and Biocide technology into cultivation, imported seed grapevines from European to experiment and develop.

The Chateau Dalat Cellar

Our wine cellar is 10m under the ground, The building procedure was closely supervised by European masters to build a wine cellar nearly like real wine cellars in Europe. The design focuses on controlling stable European-standard temperature, humidity by a special thermometer. Currently, the wine cellar contains over 100 oak barrels aging wine. Oak has solid feature so it allows oxygen to absorb into it an enough amount, which reduces the tannic taste in wine and makes it softer and smoother. Besides, the oak creates the special flavors for wine such as smoke, vanilla, chocolate, leather… It’s not only wonderful for making high-quality wine but also gives wine great colors and charming aromas.

Wine tasting and tour at Ladora Winery

The "tour" was limited to visiting a building with 3 floors : - floor -1 : the cellar - ground floor : movie watching followed by the degustation of 5 wines - floor +1 : the shop The professional and punctual guide (in cc) explained that the winery itself cannot be visited due to Covid-19 regulations of the Vietnamese government. We accepted that esp. we visited on a sunday. The only pressure to shop came from my MIL, not the guide ;-). That's why I can give the winery a 9. Our score for winetourism.com would be simply a 10 but we reduce it to 9 because my most impressive visit of a cave ever is not covered on your website. The underground visit happened in my own Belgian car with our radio frequency on the frequency of the guide car in front of us. Rarara, what winery am I talking about?
