Reviving the Rich Wine Heritage of Patmos
Wine Tradition at Patoinos - Terre de l'Apocalypse
Patmos once boasted a vibrant wine culture, renowned as far away as Alexandria, Egypt, where ships would arrive to collect the celebrated Patmian wine. Unfortunately, this rich tradition faded over the years. At Patoinos, our mission is to restore Patmos to its former glory in the wine world by revitalizing the island's viticulture through sustainable agroecological practices.
The Lands
Beyond the vineyard, our farm is a lush oasis filled with olive groves, fig trees, carob trees, cypress trees, and lemon trees. We also cultivate a Slow Food garden that showcases local biodiversity and Mediterranean herbs. This vibrant ecosystem is complemented by free-range chickens roaming the property and a few small beehives, contributing to the farm's natural balance and sustainability.
