Meet Tuscany's Pioneering Organic Winemakers - Luigi and Silvia.
Biodynamic Winemaking and Olive Oil Production
Podere La Marronaia is a charming family-run farm founded by Silvia and Luigi in 2000, nestled in the picturesque San Gimignano, Tuscany, just a short drive from the Sant’Agostino church. Together with their two sons, Pietro and Corrado, the family employs organic and biodynamic practices to craft exceptional wines and extra virgin olive oil.
From Ruin to Winery: A Transformation
Once an old ruin, Podere La Marronaia has been transformed into a stunning winery surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. The family cultivates three vineyards—Podere la Marronaia, Podere le Colonne, and Podere Fornicchiaia—growing a variety of grapes including Vernaccia, Sangiovese, and Canaiolo, as well as unique varieties like Trebbiano, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. Their offerings include white, rosé, and red wines, along with delightful dessert and sparkling options.
Organic Winemaking with Nature in Mind
With a strong commitment to sustainability, the family has embraced organic methods from the start, ensuring a harmonious balance between the ecosystem and soil fertility. Their olive groves, located in the scenic Siena countryside within the Chianti Colli Senesi DOC region, yield high-quality extra virgin olive oil.
