Poggio al Bosco, a Symbol of the Hills Surrounding the Winery

The company initially started the vine cultivation with sharecropping, but their grandparents of the current owners bought the land in the 1960s. Since this time, the Poggio Family has been handling the management of the company with great passion and dedication. In Italian dialect, the word Poggio means ‘hills’ and that is why the company has a close connection with the territory. The current owners have recently expanded the family business by buying more land for the cultivation of vines in the Chianti Region. Enjoying the perfect soil and excellent exposure to the microclimate, the vineyards of Poggio al Bosco grow a variety of vines. They include Sangiovese, Colorino, Canaiolo, Malvasia, and Trebbiano. At the winery, they also cultivate top-class Petit Manseng, Chardonnay, Viognier, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Using their finely cultivated grapes, La Casetta Azienda Agricola produces rich-quality red, white, and sparkling wines, as well as delicious dessert wines.
