Georgia is recognized as the birthplace of wine, with its ancient “Kvevri” method celebrated worldwide. Winery Khareba honors this rich tradition while integrating modern techniques to produce exceptional wines.
At Winery Khareba, only the finest grapes are selected from over 1,500 hectares of vineyards. These grapes are transformed into high-quality wines in a remarkable wine cellar located in Kvareli, Alazani Valley. Carved into the Caucasus mountains, this unique 7.7-kilometer cellar has been aging the best wines of Kakheti since its opening in 1962 for the OIV World Congress. The wines are crafted following traditional Georgian methods while adhering to European standards, resulting in some of the finest wines available.
Winery Khareba is committed to nurturing rare Georgian grape varieties, including Otskhanuri Sapere, Tsitska, Tsolikouri, Krakhuna, Aladasturi, Usakhelouri, Khikhvi, and Kisi. The winery aims to raise awareness of these ancient varieties globally. Visitors can view over 25,000 bottles of premium wines aging in the cellars and purchase selections from the unique wine shop on-site.

We've already attended small, cozy, and peaceful tastings, and we wanted to visit a more famous and eminent one. Khareba is a great option for people who "have been to many places and seen many things." Here, the entire lecture plus the tasting lasts a maximum of 30 minutes. If you were dreaming of a long, detailed lecture, this is definitely not the place for you. 4 stars for the outgoing and friendly staff and the unique tunnel.

Great tour of the cave and wine tasting experience. This stood out among the wine experiences we’ve had in a short trip to Kakheti given the offerings and uniqueness of the cave itself, as well as the beautiful surroundings.

Take a tour including wine tasting. It is very interesting even if you are experienced in wine-making, because the traditional Georgian way is very special. Our guide was so friendly that I have to buy some samples of special dry red wine, not cheap.

We had an amazing experience right from the beginning. From grape harvesting to wine tasting, delicious Georgian bread making. And grape pressing , the team over there very friendly and kind. It’s a huge cave wine cellar , I believe that they got over 5000 bottle of wines. We bought about 10 bottles of great selection of wine.
