Beaujolais Vineyard Ride, Tasting & Picnic

Come enjoy a horseback ride in the heart of Beaujolais! Château des Ravatys offers a horseback ride through some of our vineyards, followed by a climb up Mont Brouilly, and a guided tasting tour of the estate. You'll finish with a picnic in the vineyards. You'll begin the activity with a guided horseback ride through the rolling Beaujolais landscapes. After an introduction with explanations and demonstrations to teach you the fundamentals of horseback riding, you'll set off for a two-hour ride. Our guide, Clémence, a certified ATE (French Riding School), will accompany you throughout this ride, sharing her knowledge of our vineyards and the Beaujolais region. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, Clémence will tailor the experience to your level, guaranteeing you an unforgettable experience. The exceptional setting of Mont Brouilly offers a splendid view of the Beaujolais coast. Afterwards, you will return to the estate and continue with an introduction to the history of the château and a visit to the château's clos. The team will guide you to the cellar where they will explain the process from the arrival of the harvest to the end of fermentation. You will also be able to see the numerous vats and the imposing press. To continue the visit, you will go to the 2 underground cellars and enjoy a tasting of 4 wines in the cellar. Finally, depending on the weather, in the heart of the vineyards, at the foot of Mont Brouilly or in the château's large cellar, you can enjoy a delicious platter of local charcuterie and cheeses, seasonal fruits, fresh bread and a glass of the estate's wine. Here is some important information about the horseback ride: Our rides are open to all levels, including beginners. However, it is important to note that the ride lasts approximately 2 hours and with some uphill and downhill sections that may require some moderate physical effort. To ensure everyone's comfort and safety, here are some guidelines: - Closed shoes are required (hiking shoes, sneakers, ankle boots) - Suitable clothing is recommended (trousers, comfortable clothing, rain gear in case of bad weather) - Maximum weight 90 kg (can be adjusted according to riding level) - Minimum age required: 10 years (can be adjusted according to riding level and ability with horses) - Group limited to 6 people maximum for the ride and 3 beginners maximum We are delighted to welcome you to help you discover our estate and our region!
