Welcome

Domaine Ponty is the estate where I grew up, running through the vineyards, the winery where I watched my father work, the buildings where my great-grandfather conceived our first vintages. After studying law and business, I went to live abroad, first in the United States and then in China, and finally, by a circuitous route, the desire came to me to return to Fronsac and take over the estate, to put my own stamp on this long family tradition, which I did in September 2019.

Nature has always played a vital role in times when I needed to recharge and find inspiration. I wanted my estate to have the same effect on those who visited it, whether briefly or over the long term. That's why my primary objective is to create a pleasant overall environment for everyone involved in the vineyard. First and foremost, the vines, which must thrive in living soils rich in organic matter and biodiversity, but also my team, our customers, the flora and fauna that live in or pass through our vineyards, our neighbors… everyone who interacts with us in one way or another.

An Organic and Biodynamic Vineyard

Of all the properties I've visited in France and around the world, I've noticed some where you just feel good. The soils seemed richer, the vines more beautiful, the environment more diverse, and the wines more vibrant. These properties were always farmed organically or biodynamically, so it was only natural that I turned to these vineyard management methods.

Our Wines

In the winery, we minimize intervention and inputs as much as possible to allow the quality of the grapes and the terroir from which they come to express themselves fully. I've always wanted to make wines with a strong personality, a true signature, wines that will leave no one indifferent. My father never wanted to change his style to follow trends, and I share the same philosophy: my style of wine is the one I myself enjoy drinking. Wines with freshness, beautiful juice, complexity, and oak that enhances the grapes rather than overpowering them.

This is a large-scale, long-term project that I'm undertaking within a small appellation, Canon Fronsac, which boasts some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Bordeaux region. Come visit us to discover our estate and our wines!
