How to get more bookings as a winery?

Highlight what sets your winery apart, whether it's your breathtaking vineyard views, unique wine-making techniques, or exclusive tasting experiences. By showcasing your distinctiveness, you'll attract wine enthusiasts seeking something extraordinary.

Top 5 tips to make your wine tours more unique and authentic

1.Personal touch: What's behind the bottle?

There's nothing quite like connecting with the winemakers themselves. Give your wine tours a personal touch by allowing customers to interact with the passionate individuals behind the bottles.

2.Crafting a captivating content

Storytelling is a powerful tool in creating memorable wine tours. Craft a compelling narrative that highlights the history, traditions, and unique aspects of your winery and its products. Share the story of your company, the journey of your wines, and the values that drive your passion.

3.Make visitors part of something special

Customers love being part of something extraordinary. Offer immersive experiences like harvest experiences, where visitors can participate in picking grapes and witness the winemaking process firsthand. Host cooking classes where guests can learn to pair local cuisine with your wines, or invite them to be a part of the bottling process. By involving customers in these special activities, you create lasting memories and a sense of belonging.

4.Embrace the natural landscapes

Take full advantage of the stunning natural landscapes surrounding your winery. Design vineyard trails and bike routes that allow visitors to explore the scenic beauty of the vineyards up close. Consider offering unique experiences like Yoga by the vineyard, where guests can engage in a rejuvenating practice amidst the serene atmosphere.

5.Perfect pairings: Wine and local food

Elevate the tasting experience by matching your wines with local food specialties. Create curated pairings that showcase the harmonious flavors and enhance the overall enjoyment of both the wine and the cuisine. Whether it's a guided wine and cheese tasting or a multi-course wine-paired dinner, these combinations create unforgettable moments and highlight the culinary delights of the region.

Visibility Boost Banner

Add high-qualikty visual content

A picture is worth a thousand words, and in the case of wine tourism, it can also be worth a thousand bookings. Invest in high-quality visual content that showcases the beauty and ambiance of your winery.

Update your calendar and manage prices

Maintain an up-to-date calendar of available tours and experiences on WineTourism to ensure potential visitors have accurate information.

Check out our video guides on how to update availabilities:

Turn your weakness into strenght

Every winery has its unique challenges, but these can be transformed into opportunities. Perhaps you have limited parking space, but you can offer convenient shuttle services. Maybe your location is off the beaten path, but you can emphasize the tranquility and exclusivity it provides. Identify your weaknesses and find creative ways to turn them into strengths that add value to the visitor experience.

Q&A - Here you can find answers to your questions

How can I receive more bookings for my experiences?

That is the million-dollar question. We believe that following the main points of this webinar is a great start:
- have unique wine experiences, go beyond the traditional tastings and tours;
- Write a good text that describes your winery or you as a guide, telling a story;
- Do have high-quality images and Don’t have blurry or low-resolution images;
- Keep your calendar and prices updated and bonus: be fast with replies;
- Use Stripe to receive payments fast (Euro-to-Euro);
- Try to receive people in other languages, don’t limit yourself to a tasting room, and be flexible with calendar dates.

I had a lot of problems working with the prices and calendar: did anyone else? Can it be simplified?

We appreciate that you give us this feedback. We have recently worked on a new Calendar management system and our very best Ana Bonatto recorded some videos showing how to manage the calendar. Please, take a look at those here:

After logging into your Account, you can visit My Experiences on your dashboard, and click to Edit the Experience you need to change the price.

Go to 5. Manage Availability - there you will see if your profile has General or Specific Availability - both explained in the short video I linked below.

- For General Availability: Add a new one or click to edit your last availability. Go to 2. Set pricing and details and set a new price, click on Save and your price has been updated. Video explanation starting at 02:00.

- For Specific Availability: Add a new one or click to edit your last availability. Go to 1. Set Tariffs > Add Tariff. Add information, scroll down, and click on Add Price > Add all info > Save Price > Save Tariff. Set 2. Set dates for the selected tariff, 3. Set hours for the selected tariff, and 4. Set individual dates when the experience is unavailable and finally click on Add Availabilities and your price has been updated. Video explanation starting at 01:32.

Note: if you already have other fields filled, you can only change your price > Save Price > Save Tarif.

I am wondering what type of experiences are most popular among visitors?

The most popular experience on our website is Wine Tasting and Tour, but it's safe to say that this happens because the volume of this type of experience is too high on the website, around 75%. Apart from those, Wine Tasting and Food pairing gets lots of bookings, and from 2022 until now, more Wine Tastings and Outside activities (such as bike, hiking, picnic and so on) are getting more bookings as well.

Do you have any tips on how to optimize the SEO of the page? Specific words, phrases or other

At WineTourism.com, we have a strong, dedicated team of SEO experts and skilled content creators. Their efforts are focused on ensuring that every piece of content, including winery profiles and wine experience profiles, is meticulously optimized for search engines. We understand the importance of maintaining higher positions in search results, and we strive to provide this benefit to each of our partner wineries. Rest assured that our team is committed to maximizing the online visibility and exposure of your winery, helping you reach a wider audience and attract more visitors.

Is your main market the US?

Yes, around 40% of our customers come from the United States, followed by the United Kingdom and Nordics. We also have many customers coming from European countries and, often, diverse countries like Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, South Africa and others.

Is it possible to integrate your system with some other bookings solutions?
i.e. Viator?
Or... booking systems…
i.e. Redzy, Bokun, Fareharbor

Calendar integration is already available for Rezdy, you can do this integration when accessing your dashboard > My Experience > Manage Availability > Configure availabilities using Rezdy.

We are looking forward to having other Calendar APIs integrated soon.
