This family-run estate, managed by the Borman family, has dedicated years to mastering the craft of winemaking. Established in 1995, Boachkloof is named after the picturesque ravine that graces the property.

Unique Terroir

The estate features stunning rolling hills and majestic mountain views. The soil, composed of decomposed granite and koffiflip, imparts a distinctive character to the wines. The vineyards are home to a variety of grapes, including Riesling, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay, allowing for a diverse selection of wines. Notably, the Boschkloof Syrah gained recognition as the first South African red wine to receive an impressive 98 points from a renowned international critic. The winery prioritizes sustainable farming practices, with all grapes handpicked to ensure top quality. Current offerings include the Sauvignon Blanc 2021, Chardonnay 2020, Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2020, Merlot 2018, Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Syrah 2019, Conclusion 2019, and Epilogue 2019. Very nice tasting in a pleasant surrounding. We are not huge red wine drinkers but enjoyed the experience all the same. We visited with Camino wine Tours (reviewed separately) who are fantastic. Ask for guide Eon.

What a great visit! There was not a wine I didn’t like. All very elegant and unique. The atmosphere is great. Property is also beautiful and the host was knowledgeable. 10/10

Awesome tasting with Reenen, Danie and Lukas. Delicious wines especially the Pinot Noir. Most beautiful setting and view. We will be going back!
