Bodega Don Manuel Villafañe is a family-owned winery that has been in operation for almost 400 years in the Mendoza wine valley. It is the pioneer winemaker in Argentina and one of the first to plant vines on this land. Over the centuries, Bodega Don Manuel Villafañe has evolved into a premier winery known for producing and delivering high-quality wines. The winery underwent redevelopment to seize new opportunities in delivering exquisite wines to the global market. Today, Bodega Don Manuel Villafañe exports its wines to seven different countries while also meeting domestic demand.

High-Quality Vineyards and Production

The company owns 80 hectares of vineyards, named Ahuin Estate and On Manuel Estate, where high-quality grapes are cultivated. These vineyards are situated on the bed of a prehistoric river, formed by the melting mountain ice. The soil consists of rocks eroded by water, creating a rocky terrain that limits production yields to a range of approximately 5000 to 7000 kg per hectare. However, this low yield results in top-tier quality grapes. The vineyard is meticulously tended by hand, and the harvest is carried out manually.

Internationally Acclaimed Wines

Bodega Don Manuel Villafañe produces its wines in small batches to ensure the highest quality. Premium blends are crafted with great care using grape varieties such as Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Chardonnay, all renowned in the international market. The winery not only supplies its wines to seven different countries but also enjoys widespread acclaim in its domestic market. The exquisite quality of the wines can be attributed to the expertise of the enologist, who meticulously oversees the harvest and vinification processes, preserving the fullness of flavors and quality.

A sensory journey between vineyards, wines and flavors From the first moment we arrived at Bodega Don Manuel Villafañe we knew we were going to live a unique experience. The beauty of the vineyards welcomed us, marking the beginning of a journey where tradition, passion and excellence were the protagonists. Led by the incredible Daniela, we explore the meticulous process of winemaking. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and freshness brought every detail to life, from harvest to barrel aging, allowing us to understand and appreciate the dedication behind each bottle. But the experience didn't end there. The culinary moment was simply extraordinary, with a three-course menu designed by the staff of Chirinos Catering and masterfully executed by the talented chef Emilia. Each dish was a masterpiece, whose flavors and textures perfectly matched the selected wines. The gastronomic experience was further enhanced by the warmth of Nuri, who guided us in each pairing with kindness and dedication, making each bite and each sip even more enjoyable. Our day at Bodega Don Manuel Villafañe was more than just a visit, it was a sensory journey where wine, gastronomy and hospitality merged to create unforgettable moments. An essential destination for those looking for quality, warmth and unforgettable moments.

Manuel Villafañe Winery, Maipú. Beautiful winery, everything impeccable. They explained to us everything from the grapes that grow in very arid soil and their irrigation system is through hoses that water drop by drop but not permanently. How they gather it, where they place it to remove its leaves, its washing. The entire process until its bottling. The types of wines according to their storage time, there are enormous drums, cellars to maintain a cool climate. The bottles have to be in a horizontal position so that oxygen does not enter and the cork swells. The years that a wine is aged. Endless explanations that one does not know. Then came the tasting. Of different flavors, sweet, dry, etc., etc. Everyone was very cordial.

You can't leave Mendoza without stopping by this winery, they have "young" wines that look like reservas from other wineries. I recommend the 5-course lunch, the place is beautiful, the staff is super friendly and attentive, the price is a gift compared to the QUALITY. I HIGHLIGHT THE QUALITY IN EVERY BOTTLE.

Had a great time at the bodega, great wine and views of the mountains. Our guide Daniela was great and spoke really good English. At the end of the tour we got to make our own wine which we could take home with us.
