Crafting Exceptional Wines in Historic Marsala, Sicily
Caruso & Minini: A Legacy in Marsala
Caruso & Minini Winery is nestled in the picturesque region of western Sicily, specifically in Marsala, renowned for its rich winemaking heritage. Established in a century-old courtyard built in 1904, the winery offers stunning views of the surrounding lush countryside. The family-owned vineyards, Giumarella and Cuttaia, span 120 hectares and are located in the fertile inland area of Trapani province, between Salemi and Mazara del Vallo.
A Fusion of Family Traditions
The story of Caruso & Minini began with the collaboration of two family estates. Stefano Caruso, a third-generation winemaker, partnered with Mario Minini, a marketing expert from Northern Italy, in 2004. This partnership combined Caruso’s deep-rooted agricultural knowledge with Minini’s business acumen, leading to the winery's success in over 30 countries. Today, Giovanna and Rosanna, Stefano's daughters, actively contribute to the winery's operations, ensuring the family legacy continues.
Ideal Conditions for Quality Wines
The vineyard's strategic location on the highest hills provides optimal conditions for producing high-quality grapes, particularly for white wines. In contrast, red wine grapes thrive in the valley's fertile soil. Caruso & Minini cultivates a diverse range of both local and international grape varieties. Local favorites include Grillo, Catarratto, Inzolia, Nero d’Avola, and Perricone, while international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Merlot are also grown. For wine enthusiasts seeking unique flavors in a serene countryside setting, a visit to Caruso & Minini Winery is a must.
