Welcome to Château Cruzeau, a family-owned estate spanning 12 hectares, proudly managed by the LUQUOT family for five generations. This vineyard is a testament to tradition and passion for winemaking.

Unique Soil and Its Impact on Saint-Émilion Wines

Located to the west of the Saint-Émilion jurisdiction, Château Cruzeau's historic vineyard sits on the Libourne's middle terrace. The soil consists of sandy alluvium, shaped by the Isle and Dordogne rivers, resting on a molassic subsoil. Research by the Saint-Émilion syndicate has identified iron scoria, which enhances the wines' distinctive qualities. The Merlot grape thrives in this unique soil, contributing to its velvety texture, roundness, and softness.

Great visit, very interesting. The winemaker's wife showed us around the estate and the whole process of making their wine, followed by a tasting. We were able to ask lots of questions. We were with our 3 children who followed the tour with interest.

We wanted to make a visit of this type and choosing them was a great success! They explained the entire production process to us in detail and we were able to enjoy a visit to the vineyards and facilities, ending with a wine and chocolate tasting. We found the wine spectacular and we have learned a lot about the production process.

We visited with family and we loved it! Thanks to Jessica and her enthusiasm who shared her love of vines and winemaking with us. We learned a lot and we didn't imagine that making wine required so much work, expertise, passion and patience. And, a little icing on the cake: the very friendly wine/chocolate tasting at the end of the visit, with all the explanations on how to taste a wine and appreciate it. We highly recommend it. And what's more, their wine is really delicious.

Very good surprise, The owner's wife gave us the tour, she knows her subject well and she showed us the entire estate with an introduction, at the end of the visit, to fun and educational tasting of very beautiful products.

Fantastic Château to visit for a tour with wine and chocolate tasting. You are personally taken around the Château, vines, wine making facilities and do the wine tasting with the wine makers wife. Best part is the wine is amazing!

We visited the property of Château Cruzeau by making an appointment, in the company of the wife of the owner of the place who gives many explanations and details on the making of wine and the history of the château. We feel that she has a perfect grasp of the subject and is very friendly. The visit ended with a tasting of 3 vintages accompanied by 3 cheeses. We really enjoyed this moment, especially as their Saint Emilion Grand Cru appellation wines are of remarkable quality so we did not leave empty-handed. 😊 The castle is accessible by public transport (Libourne Calibus network). It's worth the detour. We 100% recommend this establishment. Good luck to you for the rest of your projects, well done. Chloé and Adrien from Ile de France.
