Krolo Winery: on the coastal region of Crotia

The family-run boutique winery at Strmendolac, Trilj, the coastal region in Croatia is the Krolo Winery and its entire production is handmade. They are especially proud of the wines of their autochthonous Crljenak kastelanski varieties, known as Zinfandel, and Pošip.

Krolo Winery is 12 years old, owns 6 hectares of vineyards, and had its first harvest in 2007. Strmendolac is a small place 30 kilometres north of Split and is the last line of vine growing due to the altitude and harsh continental climate caused by the mountain ranges that surround this area. In the Krolo family, the cultivation of vineyards in this area is a tradition over 300 years old, but Dražan Krolo is the only descendant who decided to be professionally engaged in viticulture. He was born in 1964, and he started producing wine 12 years ago, primarily out of love. Today, Krolo wines have a distinctive taste and quality and dozens of awards from around the world. The vineyards are in two locations and extend over about 6 ha. Visits to the vineyards, as well as other sights of the area, as well as excellent local food, are an integral part of their tasting offer.

Their wines have received several international awards and medals at the Blind Tastings in London and Bordeaux

The Krolo winwery has been producing their wines under the Dalmacija labels. The grape varieties produced are Crijenak Kastelanski, pošip, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay. These grapes are used to manufacture top-notch white and rose wines. Premium red wines here have won awards for their spectacular taste.
