Simone Cerruti Wines

Renovated in August 2021, Simone Cerruti Wines is a family-owned winery nestled in the picturesque region of Castiglione Tinella, Piedmont. With a history that spans four generations, Simone Cerruti, the current owner, began vinifying his own grapes in 2014. The winery specializes in dry vinified Moscato aged in barriques, showcasing the rich heritage of this UNESCO-protected area.

Heroic Agriculture in the Vineyards

Our vineyards cover 4 hectares on one of the oldest hills in the village, famously described by Cesare Pavese in his novel “The Moon and the Bonfires.” We practice manual labor in the vineyards and avoid chemical insecticides and pesticides, ensuring the health of our land. The Vigna Manzotti, where our Moscato wines originate, enjoys a south/southeast exposure and features a remarkable 40% slope.

The Wines

Simone Cerruti Wines is proud to be the only winery in Castiglione Tinella to use the term "Vigna" on our Moscato d'Asti label, signifying a unique terroir similar to the "cru" in France. In addition to our signature Moscato, we produce Barbera d'Asti DOCG, Nizza DOCG, and a white wine made from native grapes called "Eremo." Each bottle reflects our commitment to quality and tradition.

Thanks to the visit and tasting, with Simone we discovered the secrets of his delicious wines and vineyards. From the Eremo to the Nicchia, from the Fraise to the Matot ... up to the Frac and the No.Au: a sensorial journey to discover the flavors and aromas of the Langhe. We recommend everyone to visit and taste this increasingly emerging reality.

Small and local wine producer who produces fine wines for reasonable prices. We had a tasting with a tremendous view over the vineyards. I mentioned we were interested in Grappa. He then offered us to try one of his last bottles which we happily accepted. We bought all of his last Grappa bottles including the open one from the tasting and many bottles of his fine wine. I think this speaks for itself.
