Tasting at Clos du Calvaire
Immerse yourself in the essence of Châteauneuf du Pape: a guided tasting journey through 5 generations of winemaking excellence in Rhône
Located on the edge of the prestigious village of Châteauneuf du Pape, the family estate has been in the hands of the Mayard then Roumieux family for five generations. Founded in 1923, the historical and centennial Clos du Calvaire cuvée naturally gives its name to the estate. Françoise Roumieux born Mayard, alongside her children Nicolas and Coline, make the estate and the terroirs of Châteauneuf du Pape thrive through their wines.
Sharing and know-how are transmitted and renewed, our philosophy is resolutely turned towards the respect of the living and the ecosystem in which the vine takes root. The whole vineyard is cultivated in organic farming and agroecology to develop the biodiversity of our soils. For the past 10 years, wine tourism has been an activity that is close to our hearts. The cellar located in the south of the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation welcomes wine lovers all year round. You can discover in the heart of the vineyard: cellar, wine storehouse of winemaking and ageing.

Sebastian provided my wife and I with an outstanding tour of the winery. He was very personable, made us feel very at ease, great sense of humor, patient and knowledgeable. We unfortunately do not speak French, fortunately for us Sebastian's English was very good. We did not feel rushed, he answered all of our questions and provided a delightful conversation relating to the history of the winery, the wine and pairing with food. Obviously he enjoys the work that he does and is pasionate about the food and wine sector.
Was great to see the process in harvest season from vine to bottle. All the wines we tasted were exceptional.
The tour and presentation was amazing and thorough. Great wine and experience and the host was very knowledgeable. Will definitely recommend to everyone
