The 2020 vintage marks the new signature of Father Pope under a blend of 100% Grenache from our very old vines planted on the plots of La Crau, Bédines and Boisdauphin.
Père Pape is a full-bodied wine with a velvety texture that authentically reflects the great terroirs of rolled pebbles and sand on which it takes root. These plots are home to our hundred-year-old vines planted just after the phylloxera period and produce low yields. Aging for 24 months in tuns and amphora brings balance and complexity to this cuvée.
This wine offers a varied aromatic palette with notes of blackcurrant and spices. The palate is warm, combining finesse and power and reveals fine-grained, coated tannins.
