Hello Wine Enthusiasts, My name is Michael , i live in the beautiful wineregion Palatinate in the southwest of Germany. The Palatinate the biggest wine region under cultivation of the Riesling grape worldwide. I am since many years fascinated about the variety of the soils in the vineyards and their geografic microclimate situation. . After beeing many years in the IT buisness, i love to pass through my wine knowledge and experience to interested people. I am Culture & Wine Ambassadeur Palatinate and i studied oenology and viniculture at the Wine-Campus Neustadt. I create and operate Wine Tours with tastings in the Palatinate with the respect for Terroir , Sustainbility and amusement.

Terroir vineyard excursion with tasting in the winery

Palatinate is the biggest wine region under cultivation of the Riesling grape worldwide.

We will visit some vineyards with different soils , based on clay,lime sand gravel and slate and different slopes. The different Terroirs we will taste at the end in a winery nearby. We identify the typical aromas in the wines. The visitors can taste the soil in the glass. The wines are based on Riesling and some white Burgundy grapes. Find out your personel favorite. The winery operates biodynamic with minimal invasion in the vineyard. They reduce their energy consuption at the whole livecycle of the wine production and indicates at which steps of the production this will happen. During the tasting i will tell you about the CO2 footprint of a bottle of wine.
