Experience Timeless Wine Traditions in Côte de Bourg
Welcome to Château Brûlesécaille
Founded in 1924 by the Récapet family, Château Brûlesécaille is nestled in the heart of the AOC Côte de Bourg. Today, the estate is managed by Guillaume Rodet, the fourth generation of the family, who is dedicated to preserving traditional winemaking practices while promoting sustainable methods. The vineyard spans 26 hectares, showcasing the rich heritage of the region.
The Terroir of Château Brûlesécaille
The vineyard's soil is a unique blend of clay and limestone, with gravel outcrops in certain areas. The grape varieties cultivated here include 59% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Malbec. Grapes are hand-harvested and placed into fermentation tanks, where temperature control ensures optimal extraction. The estate produces four red wines: Château Brûlesécaille, Brûlesécaille Sans Soufre Ajouté, TAURIACUS (aged for 12 months in terracotta amphorae), and Château La Gravière. Additionally, 2 hectares are dedicated to Sauvignon Blanc, resulting in a crisp, dry white wine, along with a limited production of dry rosé. The local terroir enhances the elegance of the Merlot and the structure of the Cabernet.
