Intense wines that embrace the local flavours

The Feudi Di Guagnano Story

The story of the Feudi Di Guagnano winery and estate begins with the desire to save a few hectares of vineyards in the Salento region that were cultivated with negroamaro and primitivo grape varietals. These vines had been abandoned by elderly vintners who were no longer able to cultivate them. From this stage of the Feudi Di Guagnano story, it became clear that everything that was done on the estate was driven by a love for the land and for its vines and wines. The name Feudi Di Guagnano means rural district and is representative of where the vines are planted. The brand of the estate is a key that represents a synthesis between history and modern wine-making practices.

The Winemaking Process at Feudi Di Guagnano

The wines of the Feudi Di Guagnano estate are made using only the native grape varietals of negroamaro, primitivo, malvasia nera from Lecce and verdeca. Along with this, a special selection of Chardonnay grapes is aged inside French oak barrels for a period of 6 months. The wine-making philosophy at Feudi Di Guagnano comes from the desire to promote the local area and produce wines that are a true expression of the history and the traditions of the land. Extreme care is taken in the cultivation and vinification processes which harvest being done completely manually. The winery at Feudi Di Guagnano is located 5kms from the vineyards and unites the two wine-growing sites.
