Experience Winemaking and Noongar Culture in Western Australia
Preserving Noongar Heritage
The Swan Valley has been home to the Whadjuk Noongar people for tens of thousands of years. Their rich cultural and historical heritage is honored at Mandoon Estate, founded in 2008 by the Erceg family. The estate actively respects and acknowledges the traditions of the Noongar people, ensuring their legacy continues to thrive.
Commitment to Quality and Heritage
The Erceg family has quickly made a name for themselves in the Western Australian wine scene. Their dedication to quality is reflected in the boutique range of premium wines produced at Mandoon Estate. The estate is located on the historic 'Roe Family property' in Caversham, Swan Valley, which dates back to 1840. The name "Mandoon," meaning "place of many trees" in Noongar, was chosen to honor the traditional custodians of the land.
Showcasing Swan Valley's Wine Potential
Mandoon Estate highlights the Swan Valley's potential as a key wine-producing region. Senior Winemaker Ryan Sudano leads the production of wines from carefully maintained, low-yielding single vineyard sites in Swan Valley and other notable Western Australian regions. Traditional winemaking methods are employed to emphasize the unique varietal and regional characteristics of their wines.
In addition to winemaking, Mandoon Estate collaborates with local Aboriginal businesses and organizations to celebrate and preserve Noongar culture and traditions, fostering a deeper connection to the land and its history.
