MyattsField- Winery nestled in the Mesmerizing Australian Valley
MyattsField is a family operated winery nestled away in the picturesque Bickley Valley 30 minutes east of Perth hills in Australia.
Set in the Perth Hills region, the Bickley Valley vineyard’s climate compares to inland areas of Spain and Portugal and so they planted varieties of vines there. The original Myatt winery had their family farm in Camberwell, London where they were the leading producers of rhubarb in 1840. The family used to supply about 12,000 bunches of rhubarb a day to the London market. The original farm was however engulfed by the growing London. More than 175 years later, as descendants of Joseph Myatt, the present owners of Myattsfield Vineyards started farming in the Bickley Valley in Western Australia.
Winery with Unique Region
The Bickley Valley is just a small sub-region of the Perth Hills Wine Region which stretches from Chittering to jarrahdale. This region was recognized as having a unique set of geographical and topographical influences that influence the quality of wine produced in the region by the Geographic Indications Committee and awarded GIC status as a gazetted wine region in 1999.
