Myattsfield: A Winery in the Beautiful Bickley Valley

Myattsfield Vineyards is a family-run winery located in the stunning Bickley Valley, just 30 minutes east of Perth, Australia. This picturesque region is known for its lush landscapes and ideal climate for grape growing.

The Bickley Valley's climate is similar to that of inland areas in Spain and Portugal, making it perfect for a variety of grapevines. The Myatt family has a rich history in agriculture, originally farming rhubarb in Camberwell, London, where they supplied around 12,000 bunches daily in the 1840s. After more than 175 years, the descendants of Joseph Myatt have established their roots in the Bickley Valley, continuing the family legacy in winemaking.

A Unique Wine Region

The Bickley Valley is a small but significant part of the Perth Hills Wine Region, which stretches from Chittering to Jarrahdale. Recognized for its unique geographical and topographical features, the region was awarded Geographic Indications Committee (GIC) status in 1999, highlighting its potential for producing high-quality wines.

My friend and I just had a wonderful tasting with Justin, who was an absolute trooper after flying in the same day. We had a very informative tasting, along with sampling some well-balanced wines. Myattsfield alone has significantly improved my opinion on WA wines, and I look forward to coming back with others.

Fantastic family run vineyard with excellent wines, a beautiful cellar door and friendly staff. I loved everything about this place. The Perth Hills is the lesser known cousin of the Margaret River but definitely a wine lovers and foodie paradise! Generous tasting wine experience… loved it!

Great small winery with quite a few novel but more heat tolerant varietals. Worth joining their club to obtain some regular releases not available to the general public. Member functions are designed to create an understanding of what goes into the making of their wines. Grazing "plates" are available to nibble if people stay to contemplate the vines over a glass of their current favourite wine.

Pure joy- an absolute must-visit venue for anyone coming on a tour of the Perth Hills vineyards and cider houses who ways a taste of the finest made wines in the region. Alec provides an excellent background on all the wines, wines making methods and history of the area, with a smile of course. Plenty of parking and room outside for enjoying the wines and the views.
