Located on the hills between Todi and Montefalco
Between Terrain, Culture, and History,
The Pongelli Benedettoni family has owned the Tenuta di Saragano since the 1300s. It is positioned in an area that stretches across hills covered in silver olive trees, hills covered in green woodlands, and sunny meadows with lone oak trees. Stone farmhouses that have been expertly repaired, a medieval tower that now serves as the owners' home, and a lake situated in a lovely setting amid pine trees and gullies are all features of the estate. Additionally, the business, which is certified organic and ethical, has space set aside for grazing Chianina cattle and converted high-trunk woodlands that are perfect for hiking and contemplating the surroundings.
Certified Organic Wine Production
All the products are made on a respected and prized piece of land that also boasts DOC and DOCG vineyards in the Sagrantino District, high-quality cereal and legume production on arable land, and 18 hectares of Frantoiano, Moraiolo, and Leccino cultivar olive groves with about 5,000 modern, mechanized collection olive trees. Every product is 100 percent organic. The winery believes organic farming is not only a method of production that protects human health and the environment, but it is also an example of sustainable development that raises the standard of local communities' resources and aids them in competing in an international market.
The Hill with the Best Vineyard Position
The 12 hectares of vineyards, which are situated on a hill at an elevation of more than 470 meters above sea level, are part of a 220-acre estate with lush natural surroundings. The quality and productivity of the vineyard are influenced by a variety of environmental conditions. The location of the vines has not altered from the first day, more than a century ago. They have consistently displayed exceptional fruit output and quality. The wines of the Estate have received optimum and high-quality production, notable prizes and honors, great evaluations, and customer satisfaction thanks to exposure, winds, and hillside altitude.
