Between Terrain, Culture, and History,

The Pongelli Benedettoni family has owned the Tenuta di Saragano since the 1300s. It is positioned in an area that stretches across hills covered in silver olive trees, hills covered in green woodlands, and sunny meadows with lone oak trees. Stone farmhouses that have been expertly repaired, a medieval tower that now serves as the owners' home, and a lake situated in a lovely setting amid pine trees and gullies are all features of the estate. Additionally, the business, which is certified organic and ethical, has space set aside for grazing Chianina cattle and converted high-trunk woodlands that are perfect for hiking and contemplating the surroundings.

Certified Organic Wine Production

All the products are made on a respected and prized piece of land that also boasts DOC and DOCG vineyards in the Sagrantino District, high-quality cereal and legume production on arable land, and 18 hectares of Frantoiano, Moraiolo, and Leccino cultivar olive groves with about 5,000 modern, mechanized collection olive trees. Every product is 100 percent organic. The winery believes organic farming is not only a method of production that protects human health and the environment, but it is also an example of sustainable development that raises the standard of local communities' resources and aids them in competing in an international market.

The Hill with the Best Vineyard Position

The 12 hectares of vineyards, which are situated on a hill at an elevation of more than 470 meters above sea level, are part of a 220-acre estate with lush natural surroundings. The quality and productivity of the vineyard are influenced by a variety of environmental conditions. The location of the vines has not altered from the first day, more than a century ago. They have consistently displayed exceptional fruit output and quality. The wines of the Estate have received optimum and high-quality production, notable prizes and honors, great evaluations, and customer satisfaction thanks to exposure, winds, and hillside altitude.

Really beautiful historic cellar and fantastic tasting! Three hours of immersion in the history, scents and flavors of this estate and this land! To top it all off, we were given a suggestion for a restaurant in the area, spectacular!!

Great tour by a very knowledgeable guide. The wine itself is absolutely wonderful. It is a beautiful estate quite high in elevation and in it's own world. Would definitely like to visit again!

If there is a place where time seems to stand still and the passion for wine is palpable in every sip, it is Tenuta di Saragano. Nestled in the heart of the Umbrian hills, this winery is a true gem for lovers of good drinking and winemaking tradition. As soon as you arrive, a breathtaking view awaits you: rows of vines stretch as far as the eye can see while the sun plays between the leaves, creating a magical atmosphere. The structure of the cellar, elegant and rustic at the same time, perfectly reflects the harmony between nature and tradition. The tasting journey was an unforgettable experience. Each wine tells a story, the result of careful craftsmanship and real passion. Each glass was a discovery, with complex aromatic notes and impeccable balance. Letizia, the guide who accompanied us during the tasting, was prepared and passionate, able to convey the love that animates every phase of production. The explanations of the vines, the winemaking techniques and the history of the winery made the experience even more exciting. In summary, the Saragano winery is a place where passion for wine is combined with the beauty of nature and the art of cooking. If you are looking for a wine experience that stimulates all the senses, this is the place to be. We will definitely return, not only for the exceptional wines, but also for the warm hospitality and the enchanting atmosphere that reigns in this corner of paradise. A real must for any wine lover!

A territorial reality where the love for wine, for the land and for work shines through. Congratulations to Letizia, Ivano's daughter, young but competent and above all enthusiastic about passing on the love that her father puts into this work. He acted as our guide in the cellar and during an excellent tasting. Exceptional wines!
