VinoRoma Wine Studio & Social Club

VinoRoma is a wine education organization run by an international group of sommeliers and wine fans. Here at VinoRoma, we want you to get up close and personal with Italian wines. Our wine tastings are open to all ages and levels. We’ll present the best wine styles, appellations, and grape varieties Italy has to offer; some you may know, others maybe not so much. But we promise that whether you’re new to the wine world or you’re a seasoned sommelier, you’ll get a lot out of one of our tastings.

Our tastings are a refreshing break from the bustling life in Rome; we’ll welcome you into our dedicated wine studio in the heart of the city where you’ll experience a relaxing, friendly, and fun environment with people just like you. Throughout our time together, you’ll learn how to properly taste wine and how wine styles change from region to region as well as how to pair the right bottle of wine with the right dish. And of course, you’ll drink some pretty tasty and unique wines, in our humble opinion. And that’s not to mention our Roman-era wine cellar that, if you play your cards right, we might just take you down to visit.

We love drinking wine, but we’re not snobby about it. Our philosophy is that everyone can and should be drinking good quality wines, whether you’re a novice, weekend-only wine drinker or you’re a dyed-in-the-wool oenophile. We’ll provide you with the knowledge to feel more confident the next time you walk into a wine shop or the waiter puts that wine list in your hands. And you’ll start to see that you can better appreciate Italian wines once you start to recognize the difference between a Barolo and a Brunello, or a Montepulciano d’Abruzzo versus a Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (this one confuses everyone, don’t worry ;)

And since, in Italy, wine and food go hand in hand, we’re also well-versed in the local culinary customs and food scene. Of course, we’ll be happy to give you tips on the best places to check out while you’re in town. And for those who want to learn more about food culture in Rome, from the local food markets, cafès, and gelateria to the best pizza joints and secret mom-and-pop shops, we also offer several walking food tours in real, lived-in neighborhoods around the city. This is a great way to get away from the tourist traps in the city center and learn exactly how real Romans shop and eat. Or book a private visit to a nearby natural winery making some of the best wines in the region right now.

At its heart, VinoRoma is a social club devoted to drinking and appreciating wine. That means that once you’ve signed up for your first wine tasting, food tour, or event, you’ll become a member of a group of like-minded people who enjoy good wine and good food, and you’ll be invited to special events with winemakers, wine merchants, restaurant owners, and experts in all things gastronomic. VinoRoma is offering you something different from the typical experiences in Rome. We won’t meet at some random wine bar and order arbitrary glasses of wine for you to try. Instead, we’re inviting you into our private tasting room, where you will be guided by your sommelier through the ins and outs of tasting wine. We’re not just offering to let you drink wine (though there will be plenty of that). Instead, we want to give you the key to understanding Italian wines and your tastes so that you can continue exploring on your own long after the tasting!
