A New Chapter in Catalonia’s Wine Story

In the heart of the DO Montsant region, surrounded by rugged hills and Mediterranean light, lies Bell Cros Winery — a young project built on old vines and bold dreams. Founded in 2017 by Swedish couple Ann and Peter Skoglund, Bell Cros has quickly become one of the region’s most exciting names, transforming a passion for Spanish wine into a thriving, sustainable estate.

What began as a small vineyard purchase has blossomed into 25 hectares of connected land, with 17 hectares under vine, many of which are 30–80 years old. The result is a winery that beautifully bridges heritage and innovation — where each bottle tells the story of Montsant’s soil, sun, and spirit.

A Vision Rooted in Sustainability and Craft

Bell Cros is guided by a clear vision: to craft wines that express the land with honesty and respect. The estate is now certified organic and vegan, emphasizing balance between tradition and sustainability.

Working alongside renowned winemaker Joan Asens, named Catalonia’s Winemaker of the Year 2019, the team combines deep local knowledge with modern precision. Their approach is minimalist and mindful — focusing on small-batch production, hand-harvested fruit, and the natural character of each vintage.

Even the name “Bell Cros” reflects the essence of place: “Bell” means beautiful and “Cros” refers to valley — a nod to both the landscape and the philosophy that beauty is found in simplicity.

The Experience: Authentic and Immersive

A visit to Bell Cros isn’t just about tasting wine — it’s about understanding it from the roots up. Guests are invited to walk among old vines of Carinyena and Garnacha, explore the estate’s diverse soils of granite, schist, and clay-calcareous, and see firsthand how each element shapes the wine’s identity.

Tastings are intimate, guided by people who live and breathe the vineyards every day. You’ll learn the story of each label while savoring wines that are as expressive as they are elegant. It’s the kind of wine experience that feels deeply personal — relaxed, genuine, and full of Catalan warmth.

Signature Wines that Speak of Place

Bell Cros focuses on Carinyena and Garnacha Negra for reds, and Garnacha Blanca for whites — varietals that define the Montsant region.

Their standout white, La Figaflor 2022, was awarded Best White Wine from Garnacha Blanca by La Guia de Vins de Catalunya 2024, a testament to the winery’s quality and character. Each bottle, from their elegant rosés to their structured reds, reflects the minerality, freshness, and soul of the Montsant landscape.
