Crafting Unique Cacc’ e Mmitte di Lucera D.O.P. Wines

Alberto Longo specializes in producing Cacc’ e Mmitte di Lucera D.O.P., one of the oldest and most distinctive wines in Italy. This exceptional wine is a harmonious blend of 55% Nero di Troia, 30% Montepulciano di Abruzzo, and 15% Bombino Bianco. With only about 30 hectares dedicated to this D.O.P., it is one of the smallest in the world, and Alberto Longo stands as the largest producer globally. The wine is celebrated for its intense berry aromas, robust tannins, and strong structure, making it an ideal pairing for traditional Mediterranean dishes.

Vineyard and Grape Varieties

The vineyards of Agricole Alberto Longo are located between Masseria Celentano and Fattoria Cavalli, near Lucera. The region benefits from the Balkan winds, rich soil, and a unique microclimate that are perfect for vine cultivation. Key grape varieties grown here include Primitivo, Negroamaro, Nero di Troia, Syrah, and Falanghina. The winery features controlled temperature and humidity for optimal wine processing and aging, along with a modern warehouse and bottling facility for storing the finished products.
