Winery making wines in one of the Oldest and most Unique Cacc’ e Mmitte di Lucera D.O.P.
Alberto Longo is known for making wines in one of the oldest and most unique, Cacc’ e Mmitte di Lucera D.O.P. This wine is a blend of 3 grapes: 55% of Nero di Troia, 30% of Montepulciano di Abbruzzo and 15% of Bombino Bianco. The D.O.P is one of the smallest in the world, with around 30 hectares. Only five winemakers make this wine in Italy, and Alberto Longo is the biggest producer of this wine in the world. Cacc’ e Mmitte di Lucera D.O.P wine has an intense aroma, rich in berries, tannins, and has a strong structure.
It is perfect to accompany traditional Mediterranean cuisine.
Their vineyards are divided between the Masseria Celentano and Fattoria Cavalli farms neat the city of Lucera. The Bulkan winds, soil, and the unique microclimate here favor the cultivation of vines. The grapes that grow here include Primitivo, Negroamaro, Nero di Troia, Syrah, and Falanghina. The winery in Lucera has controlled temperature and humidity for the proper processing of wines and ageing. There is also a new warehouse and bottling plant where the finished wines are stored.
