Capua Winery, Conventional Winemaking With a Pinch of Innovation
Riccardo and Natasha Capua established La Capua Winery in 2003 with a commitment to deliver top-of-the-line Italian wines to people worldwide. Riccardo’s trip to Maremma was the turning point in his life – the lush countryside bewitched him, and he decided to dedicate his life to wine production. Along with Natasha, he mastered traditional winemaking methods with a pinch of innovative techniques. Today, the estate produces top-quality red, white, and rosè wines, made within the Maremma Toscana DOC and Morellino di Scansano DOCG regions.
Protecting the Ecosystem and Biodiversity
Riccardo grows an extensive range of native and international grapes. Every hectare houses around 8000 brunches, including fruity Chardonnay, Sangiovese, Alicante, and Merlot. Some hectares are reserved for high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Preserving the ecosystem and biodiversity, the owners use manual viticulture methods, avoiding heavy machinery or chemicals.
All the settings, from fermentation room to bottling and aging room, are equipped with climate-control devices, providing optimal conditions for every phase of wine maturation. The company’s six labels, namely Monamour, Dolceamore, TuttoCuore, Fiammante, MioSogno, and L’anime a Rallegrar, are refined in the finest barrels made from oak.
