Cascina I Carpini, a Family Winery in the Heart of Piedmont
Cascina I Carpini is a family-run winery that was established in 1998. The owners dreamt of producing quality wines using natural processes respecting their vision of life. When the owners bought the estate, there were meadows, forests, wildlife, and exceptional vine-growing conditions already present. After many years of hard work and passion, the winery produces wines using traditional methods and modern techniques.
The Great Region and Terroir of Cascina I Carpini Winery
The winery is located in the east of the Piedmont region near the Tortona Hills. The beautiful landscape stretches between hills of orchards and vineyards, with a panoramic view from the Ligurian Sea to Monviso. The climate of the region is perfect for vine cultivation. There is rainfall almost all year, and the winters are cold, but the big difference in temperature between day and night helps the grape ripen fully. The vines grow well thanks to this ideal climate. Sunlight and ventilation are perfect for grape cultivation.
Almost six thousand vines are planted per hectare, at Cascina I Carpini Winery, vine growers focus mainly on low yields and choose only grapes with the best quality.
The Winemaking Process at Cascina I Carpini Winery
The winemakers handpick the best grapes and transport them to the winery for vinification. The grape bunches are then destemmed to prevent the wines from having unwanted tannins. They carefully look at the fermentation process at controlled temperatures to keep the wines’ natural freshness and acidity. Finally, wines are matured in semi-underground cellars. They produce exceptional local red and white wines.
